Islamabad – Pakistan’s political and religious community is mourning the loss of Religious Affairs Minister and JUI-F MNA Mufti Abdul Shakoor, who died in a road accident in Islamabad on Friday.

According to reports, Mufti Abdul Shakoor’s car collided with a truck on the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway, resulting in his death. The minister was reportedly traveling to Lahore to attend a religious gathering.

Mufti Abdul Shakoor was a prominent religious scholar and a member of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) political party. He had been serving as the Religious Affairs Minister since April 2021, following a cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
