Review on the Brothers karamazov
The Russian masterpiece that gives you the insight into the lives of four brothers: Dimitry, Alyoosha,, Ivan and Smerdyukov; as the brothers set to seek salvation from the shadow of their father: Fyodor Karamazov.
Will it be the act of physical toughness chosen by Dimitry, the act of piousness chosen by Alyousha, the act of intellectualism chosen by Ivan or the act of cunningness chosen by Smerdyukov, that would ultimately lead these brothers free, from becoming their father? But can they defy the blood running through their veins or wipe the Karamazov from their names? Even though they were neglected by their father at time of their birth and their lives were going on as they were; yet a time comes when they all have to encounter Fyodor Karamazov again. This is where the plot sets its actual pace and readers will see how capable a man Fyodor Karamazov is, when it comes to manipulating the lives of his own sons in attaining his desires. What is it about Fyodor Karamazov that actually haunts them? Why is this man, who is indulged in debauchery and adultery, such a threat? This is because Fyodor Karamaozv is a man only loyal to money. What he wants is the wealth; and likes the idea of not sharing with anyone, even with his own sons when they reach to him for their rightful inheritance. He had betrayed the women whom he fooled into loving him, he had failed his sons whom he brought into this world, he had betrayed businessmen who did dealings with him, just in order to have the riches to maintain the leisure of his own life. While the reader goes through such an intense theme written in a Russian mindset by one of the greatest writers: Fyodor Dosteovysky, one will be amazed by the philosophical debates performed just for the goal of seeking the answer through one’s perspective of life, and how satisfying all of the characters’ ideologies will become, even though each contradicted the other and it will become difficult to choose on which side the reader should be.
