At this time, Skardu has become unsafe for children and women. Most of the child abuse happens in Skardu which goes unreported to the police and the media. Child abuse and Sexual promiscuity of girls is common, which is known as Chuza Bazi in the local language. If the male child is not safe in this area, where are the girls safe? A few years ago, a vulgar man abducted a girl studying in a public school and college and sexually assaulted her all night. After that, in one more case, by making a video of an orphan child belonging to Rondu, the rapist blackmailed her and sexually assaulted her for many years.
If in this society, the culprits are blackmailing by making videos of boys. How many girls and women would have been blackmailing by making videos? Regardless of the fact that the recent incident was voluntary adultery or coercion, the sexual immorality that is common in Skardu is unlikely to happen anywhere. But here, most of the boys and girls do not tell their families or the police for fear of being stigmatized by society. I complain that the result is that the sexual wolves continue their malicious activities by taking undue advantage of them. Baltistan has been given the title of the land of Ahl al-Bayt, but our scholars are silent about it. Every year there is an outcry about the dress of tourists trying to ban tourists but scholars and civil society are silent about the immorality spread by local people.
Now coming to its solution. After today scholars and civil society, parents should determine their respective responsibilities properly. Parents should keep a close eye on their children. Young girls should think about the consequences of misuse of mobile phones and having a relationship with a non-mahram man on a mobile phone. Girls should be aware that boys are not trustworthy before they resort to blackmailing by making videos of illegal acts and making them travel to some tourist spots in the name of cute love. If someone expresses his love, then directly say that he should send the relationship home and get married.
In order to stop the abuse of children, a regular campaign should be conducted in schools and madrasas, and children should be taught that they should not be friends with adult men. Parents are sensitive about their daughters but they are careless about children. Parents should think about this too.
Whenever an illegal video comes to light, the police use modern technology to track down the people posting the videos and the makers of the videos and take legal action against them. Instead of narrating anecdotes in gatherings and gatherings, scholars should emphasize training and point out the sins in society and talk openly about them.
If this Sexual promiscuity is not stopped in Skardu, it will engulf the entire Gilgit Baltistan.
